J&K’s Umran Malik Clocks 151 Kmph At IPL 2021

SRINAGAR: Jammu & Kashmir pacer Umran Malik, who is currently playing IPL 2021 with Sunrisers Hyderbad, on Sunday clocked the tournament’s fastest delivery at 151.03 kmph earning praise from fans and players alike.

The bowler bowled two 150 kmph deliveries, with the latter becoming the fastest delivery in this season’s IPL. Malik managed a decent 4 overs, giving away 27 runs without taking a wicket. SRH suffered defeat as KKR won by six wickets with two balls to spare at the Dubai International Stadium.

Regardless of the result, the J&K speedster impressed everyone with his quick bowling.

Meanwhile, Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul has complimented Umran Malik for his performance on his debut and wished him to don blue jersey soon. In her message, she also applauded the role of Randhir Singh, JKSC coach who first spotted Umran at a cricket coaching center at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu.

Umran was later selected to represent J&K, initially in junior cricket and later he played for senior cricket team under the captaincy of Parveez Rasool. Parveez who is Technical Advisor in JKSC was impressed by his pace and he advised Umran to work hard.

Parveez Rasool credits coach Randhir Singh and Abdul Samad for discovering and supporting Umran Malik.

Irfan Pathan and Harsha Bhogle are among many dignitaries of the cricketing world who are raving about Umran Malik.

“Good to see a young man like Umran Malik with some serious pace about him,” Bhogle tweeted.
