Awantipora- A delegation led by the Secretary, Department of Higher Education J&K Sushma Chauhan along with the Director Planning, Department of Higher Education J&K, G M Ganie and others visited Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) on Wednesday to have a discussion with the Vice Chancellor and other University officials on the on-going and completed infrastructure development projects at IUST.
The Vice Chancellor IUST Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo while welcoming the delegation informed them about the ongoing and pipeline academic programs and the infrastructural development projects. The Secretary, Department of Higher Education J&K visited various University departments and centres including the Food Technology Block, Residential Quarter Block, Engineering Block and Nursing College and appreciated the state-of-art facilities developed by the University in various subjects. She lauded the efforts of the IUST for timely completion of the infrastructure projects.
Student exchange programmes, skill enhancement programs and collaborations with other higher educational institutes in the UT of J&K were also discussed during the visit.
While lauding the efforts and contribution of the IUST for promotion of higher education in science and technology, the Secretary Department of Higher Education expressed the hope that the University shall continue to grow in other frontier areas of science and technology.
