Real Kashmir’s Sahil Khursheed was awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant performance.
In the second match, J&K Bank XI clashed with Hyderya Sports FC. Billed as the main-event with evening kick off, the match was held under the TRC ground’s flood lights.
“Both the teams right from the start of the match exhibited quality football which left the spectators spell bound. Their tactical play enthralled the audience. The match was played in flood lights which added extra charm to the game and every movement was enjoyed by the spectators. Hyderya Sports Club made a superb move but failed to convert it into goal in 30th minute of first half, which ended goalless. However, in the 55th minute J&K Bank XI took the lead from a superb goal scored by Akif,” the JKFA said in a statement.
“In the 75th minute of the match J&K Bank made a move with a cross from midfield-maestro Adnan who found Akif in the box. The striker made no mistake by converting another goal through a splendid header and consolidated their lead,” the statement added.
“In the 80th minute of the match Hyderya Sports made a counter attach and scored the first goal through captain Shahnawaz Bashir. The Bank players responded immediately and made a counter attack from which Akif made no mistake in converting another goal. Akif of J&K Bank scored the first hattrick of the tournament.
“Akif scored the 4th goal for his team in the dying movements of the match before Prem Kumar scored another for the J&K Bank team. Thus J&K Bank XI defeated Hyderya Sports by 5 goals to one,” the JKFA statement concluded.
Aakif Javed of J&K Bank was declared man of the match.
