Suicide Not A Solution To Temporary Setbacks In Life: Maulana Qasmi

‘Everyone Including Parents Have A Role To Curb Menace Of Suicides’

Srinagar: The Rector of Darul Uloom Raheemiyah, Bandipora, Maulana Mohammad Rehmatullah Qasmi Wednesday said suicides are Haram in Islam and temporary setback in life should not be taken as a failure.

He said almighty Allah has created every human being with a purpose. One cannot take his life with his own will, Maulana Qasmi said.

He said that the Islam has clearly instructed not to offer he funeral prayers of the ones who end their own life. The purpose, he said, is that people may refrain from committing this sin.

Maulana Qasmi said suicide has never been an option to overcome the setbacks of life. “Being a part of the society every individual should play their role by trying to counsel people who have been going through mental health issues.

Terming the wave of suicides in Kashmir a cause of serious concern, Maulana Qasmi said the intervention of parents can also play a key role to curb the menace.

Maulana Qasmi said parents should keep a note of the daily happenings of their children. The parents should know what triggers such extreme emotions in their children. He said that the system also needs to play a proactive role to curb the menace.
