Kupwara Youth’s Body Retrieved From Jhelum In Srinagar After 4 Days

Srinagar- Body of a teenager from Kupwara, who had jumped in Jhelum near Noorbagh area of Srinagar on June 25 evening, was retrieved from the water body on Tuesday.

The 17-year old youth from Kupwara district had shot a video before jumping into the river.

A police officer said that body was retrieved by joint team of river police and locals, according to news agency GNS.

The youth has been identified as Saqib Ahmad Ahanger son of Abdul Kalaam Ahanger, a resident of Kupwara.

Meanwhile the body has been taken into custody by police and after medico-legal formalities would be handed over to the family for last rites.
