Youth Held Over Rifle Snatching Bid In Shopian

Srinagar- A youth was arrested for allegedly trying to snatch the rifle of a guard at a bank’s branch in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday, a police official said.

The incident took place at the Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s Imamsahab branch in the afternoon, he said.

Nadish Ahmad tried to snatch a 12 bore rifle from the bank’s guard but timely action by police, foiled the bid, the official said.

He was arrested on the spot and is being questioned at a police station, he said.
