Srinagar: The Board of School Education (BOSE) on Saturday revised the syllabi of General English subject for 11th and 12th standard classes of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh UT’s.
The board in this regard issued a notification, according to news agency KNO.
Besides change in syllabi, the BOSE also changed the assessment criteria of these classes.
The BOSE notification reads, “The syllabi and textbooks of General English for classes 11th and 12th have been revised and changed in UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.”
“As per the new syllabi and scheme of assessment, 80 marks shall be allotted to theory examination and 20 marks for the internal assessment of both the classes,” it reads.
According to BOSE, Hornbill (Core Course) General English and Snapshots (Supplementary Reader) are the new general English books for 11th standard, that are been published by NCERT and for the 12th standard, Flamingo (Core Course) and Vistas (Supplementary Reader) respectively.
The BOSE notification reads that the question papers of the both subjects shall be set from the revised syllabi and courses of study for annual, regular examination including those of fresh private candidates who are to appear in upcoming exams.
