Civilian, Cop Injured In Srinagar Militant Attack

Srinagar- A civilian and a cop were injured after militants fired upon a police naka party in Hawal area of Srinagar city on Sunday, officials said .

Militants opened fire on the police party at Sazgaripora area of Hawal, resulting in injuries to a policeman and a civilian, a police official said.

He said that the injured cop has been identified as Constable Farooq Ahmad while as civilian has been identified as Muneer Ahmed from Safa Kadal area of Srinagar.

Both received injuries in legs and were shifted to SKIMS hospital for treatment, the official said, adding that both are said to be stable.

Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
