Srinagar: The Crime Branch of police on Tuesday filed charges against a man accused of duping a USA-based woman on the pretext of constructing a hut for her in Kashmir Valley.
According to the official sources, the Crime Branch produced chargesheet against Pardeep Singh Bali of Uller village of Rajpora Awantipora for duping Simon Kour Nanda of New Jersey, USA on the pretext of constructing a hut for her in the Valley.
The case against Bali was filed in 2012 on the complaint of Kour alleging that the accused grabbed a huge amount of money from her after promising her a hut in the Valley which was never handed over to her.
An officer of the Crime Branch told GNS that the chargesheet in the case (FIR No 15/2012) was filed before the Court of City Judge Srinagar.
