88 Security Men Among New 1036 Cases

Srinagar: At least twenty one people, including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personal succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, taking the number of fatalities due to the deadly infection in the Union Territory to 1026.

While fourteen people died of coronavirus in Jammu division, seven others succumbed to the infection in Kashmir valley, officials said Monday.

Among those who died in Valley due to Covid-19 included a 75-year-old woman from Chanapora Srinagar who breathed her last at SKIMS Soura, a week after she was admitted to the tertiary care hospital, officials said.

They said four other persons also died at SKIMS Soura including a 65-year-old woman from Nehru Park, a 55-year-old woman from Larkipora Anantnag, a 35-year-old from Rainawari here and a 37-year-old CRPF trooper from 35 battalion Humhama.

Officials said that two other deaths from Valley occurred at SMHS hospital and includes a 65-year-old from Salam Abad Uri, who was admitted with bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia three days ago, and a 45-year-old from Gund Hasi Bhat, who was admitted as a case of bilateral CAP and died five days after being admitted there.

Among the fatalities from Jammu, officials said included a 65-year-old from Muthi, a 60-year-old from Gangyal Jammu, a 74-year-old from Bishnah, a 50-year-old woman from Jandraha and a 55-year-old from Bari Brahmana Jammu.

With these deaths, 1026 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir and among them 780 from Kashmir and 246 from the Valley.

88 Security Men Among New 1036 Cases

Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday 1036 new cases of coronavirus, including 88 army and CRPF personnel, three pregnant women and two employees of education department besides as many minors, taking the number of people infected by the virus to 65026.

While 563 new cases were reported from Jammu division, the remaining 473 were confirmed by the officials in Kashmir Valley. Giving the district wise details, officials said that Srinagar reported 141 cases, Budgam 60,Baramulla 79, Pulwama 54, Anantnag 36, Bandipora 22, Kupwara 14, Ganderbal 56, Kulgam 5, Shopian 6, Jammu 245, Rajouri 66, Udhampur 30, Kathua 34, Doda 59, Samba 57, Poonch 24, Ramban 15, Reasi 26 and Kishtwar 7.

Moreover, 1158 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 720 from Jammu Division and 438 from Kashmir Valley.
