Srinagar: The militants fled with two assault rifles after killing three CRPF personnel in an audacious attack in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Monday, reports said Tuesday.
Quoting a senior police officer, a news agency GNS reported today that the militants associated with little known outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) snatched two rifles from the spot in Wangam crossing in Kralgund Handwara after carrying out deadly attack on the paramilitary troopers.
“The investigation is underway,” the officer said and responded in affirmative when asked if the militants fled with two service rifles from three CRPF men killed in the shootout.
The officer also said that the TRF was an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit.
Meanwhile, police have filed a case under FIR number 60/2020 under section 307, 302 IPC and 7/27 IA Act in connection with the incident in which three CRPF men were killed while a 14-year-old boy Hazim Shafi Bhat died in “cross firing”.
