South Kashmir: Cop Abducted In Shopian Village

Srinagar- A policeman was abducted by suspected militants from his home in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday night, officials said.

They said that suspected militants abducted the police constable Javid Jabbar son of Abdul Jabbar (Belt no. 4613/S) from his residence at Wayil in Shopian around 9.40 pm,

Jabbar is posted in the escort unit of a police officer in Hazratbal area of Srinagar. He was visiting his family on leave, they said.

State forces have launched search operations to rescue him.
