Suspected Militants ‘Thrash’ Cop In South Kashmir’s Kulgam

Srinagar: Suspected militants allegedly thrashed a special police officer (SPO) after barging into his house in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, reports said Monday.

A group of three suspected militants barged into the house of SPO Adil Bashir Bhat in Tengbal village of Kulgam and thrashed him, news agency KNT reported. Before making a quick exit from his house, the gunmen warned SPO to resign from his job.

Bhat, according to the report is posted at district police lines Kulgam.

The news agency quoted SSP Kulgam Gurindar Pal Singh confirming the incident

“Cognizance of the incident has been taken and a formal case registered in this regard,” Singh said.
