SRINAGAR –Taking strong note of unauthorized absence from their duties, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHsK) has issued a show cause notice to 33 doctors, working as medical officers in various districts of the valley.
Sources in Health Department said that these 33 doctors, have left their placing of postings for higher education and other purposes, without authorization and due to their prolonged absence from duty, patient care has been suffering a great deal.
Taking a strong note of the unauthorized absence of these doctors, DHSK has issued a show cause notice to them, in which they have been asked to furnish their reply within 10 days and if they fail to do so action under rules will be taken against them.
Sources in DHSK said that out of these 33 doctors against whom show cause notices have been issued, 17 are from Srinagar, 1 from Bandipora, 1 from Pulwama, 5 from Anantnag, 1 from Kupwara, 4 from Baramulla, 3 from Budgam and 1 from Kulgam.
Meanwhile from the areas, where these doctors are posted have said that they are suffering due to the absence of these medical officers and have appealed Director Health Kashmir to post substitute doctors in their areas, till the process of enquiry against these doctors is completed to ensure patient care in their areas.
