Chennai

In 2015, BBC voted Chennai as one of the safest big cities in India. Also, Lonely Planet named Chennai the 9th most cosmopolitan city in the world, the same year. It is also considered safe for women. The cost of living in Chennai is lower than other metropolitan cities. The level of crime is low too. It also has some good schools such as Good Shepherd Convent, Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, Chettinad Vidyashram, and Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram, to name a few. It also boasts of some reputable colleges and universities including Anna University, Loyola College, and Asian College of Journalism.

Mumbai

Mumbai is one of the most popular cities in the country for kinds of individuals – bachelors, families, students, and more. It is also the home of Bollywood. It has been called many names including the Financial Capital of India, The City that Never Sleeps, and the Shanghai of India. It is also the most expensive city in India. Rent is skyrocketing, and the cost of living is very high. So, make sure you earn a good income to provide for your family if you choose to move to Mumbai. It has some reputable schools such as Dhirubhai Ambani International School and Campion School Fort, among others, but expect the school fees to be on the higher side. Bangalore

If you’re in the IT industry, finding a job in Bangalore and earning a decent income will not be very difficult as Bangalore is known as the IT hub of the country. Education and job prospects are extremely desirable here compared to many other parts of the country, that’s why many people choose to move to this city. It is also known as the green city boasting a number of renowned parks including Cubbon Park and Lalbagh Botanical Garden, making it kid-friendly. The city also has some of the best engineering colleges including M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, RV College of Engineering, and BMS College of Engineering.

Gurugram

Gurugram or Gurgaon, also known as the millennium city of India, is the only non-metropolitan city on this list. Getting a house on rent in Gurgaon is much cheaper than most cities mentioned on this list. It has numerous condominiums at affordable prices for you to take your pick. There are also a lot of malls and entertainment zones. Many even consider Gurgaon to be a better place to live than Delhi because of the peaceful life, better accommodation, and job opportunities.
