BSF Vehicle Torched After It Hits Private Car Near Pattan

SRINAGAR – A BSF vehicle was torched by an angry mob on Thursday evening, when it hit a private car in Boso area of Pattan range, falling under police station Sopore, killing two persons on spot and injuring one.

Eye witnesses said that two persons were killed on the spot and one woman was seriously injured, when an I10 Hyundai private car bearing registration No. JK 01 AB 9012, moving towards Pattan was hit by a speedy BSF vehicle coming from opposite direction, near Boso village.

Police said that two BSF vehicles were going towards Baramulla of which one hit the car. While the angry locals set the BSF vehicle ablaze after the incident, BSF personnel travelling in another vehicle rescued their colleagues from the vehicle involved in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Constable Mohammad Shameem s/o Ghulam Mohammad Bhat r/o Sozaith, Narabal, Belt No. 703 SPR, Ulfat Altaf Parra d/o Altaf Ahmed Parra r/o Inderagam Pattan, while the injured lady was identified as Farhat Fayaz, also a resident of Indergam Pattan. After completing medico legal formalities, police handed over dead bodies of the deceased to the relatives for last rites, while the injured lady was shifted to hospital for treatment.

Police registered a case under FIR No. 137/19 in police station Tarzoo, Sopore and investigation in the incident has been initiated. (CNS)
