Yatri From Rajasthan Drowns In Pahalgam

SRINAGAR —  A 27-year old yatri from Rajasthan state on Wednesday drowned while taking bath in river Lidder in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Reports said that the Amarnath Yatri was washed away by gushing waters. The locals and police started rescue operation and later retrieved the body. Sub Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam identified the pilgrim as Ashish Kumar of Alwar, Rajasthan. Ashish was scheduled to visit the holy cave on Thursday, he said.

He said that after conducting all medico-legal formalities the body of the deceased has been kept in a mortuary.
