SRINAGAR Two militants and an army soldier were killed while as two army soldiers sustained bullet wounds in ongoing gunfight at Waghoma area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.
Official sources said that two militants have been killed so ar in ongoing operation as searches are still underway, reported news agency GNS.
A senior police officer said that one army soldier injured in initial exchange of firing, he was shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment were he succumbed.
The officer further said that two more army soldiers were injured later who also were shifted to hospital and are said to be stable.
Earlier on receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area joint team of forces including 3 RR, CRPF and SOG launched search operation in the area, he said
On intensifying the search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated triggering gunfight, he said.
Meanwhile as a precautionary measures internet services have been snapped in Anantnag district.
