Sha’ban Moon Sighted, Shab-e-Bar’at on April 20 

SRINAGAR — The moon of the Hijri month of Sha’ban-ul-Muazzam was sighted on Saturday and the first of Sha’ban will fall on Sunday, April 7, 2019, reports said here this evening. Likewise Shab-e-Bar’at, the night of fortune and forgiveness, will be observed in Kashmir on April 20.

Shab-e-Bar’at is observed on the fifteenth night of the month of Shaban.

According to Muslim belief, Shab-e-Bar’at or Laylatul-bara’ah is the night of special Divine mercy.
