3 Cars That Can Be Introduced To Give Competition To Mahindra Alturas

Mahindra Alturas is a heavy-duty SUV that has found its way in the market segment of the people who love the powerful SUV but do not want to spend the exorbitant price on it. There are other SUVs in the market too which have their powerful engines on the display. Mahindra Alturas G4 is available in different variants which are loaded with the performance tweaks and the comfortable interiors. the athletic body of the car has already made fans on the streets and the brand trust and loyalty of the people might lure them into buying Mahindra Alturas.

Apart from Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, there aren’t really any offerings in the Indian market that can compete in this segment. We can, however, take a look at some international cars that can be launched in India to give some serious competition in this segment. Let us look at the other three cars which can give a tough competition to the might Mahindra Alturas G4 if they are bought to India in the near future.

Jeep Cherokee

Jeep has had quite a lot of success with their Entry level vehicle Compass, and for the premium end of the market, they already sell their Grand Cherokee and Wrangler via the CBU import route. This however causes a big rift in their lineup in terms of price. Jeep could plug this gap by introducing its premium luxury off-road capable SUV, the Jeep Cherokee via the CKD route. By this method, they’d be able to keep prices in check, probably near the 35 to 40 Lakh mark, close to where the Alturas currently sits.

Cherokee is quite a wonderful car in Jeep’s international Lineup. Critics have praised this car for the great engine line-up. Moreover, the car also offers unmatched off-roading capabilities compared to the rivals in this segment. Also, you will get the cabin which is not offered by competitors such as Nissan. The upgraded infotainment system is easy to use and finds its purpose during the ride. The added active safety features such as blind spot monitoring and rear parking sensors make it more likely to be purchased over the others.

Honda Pilot

Honda hasn’t had much success with its small and cheap passenger cars in India, although their premium cars have been doing well in the country. As such, Honda should go all out and introduce a lot of different premium products in India, such as their international SUV offering, the Honda Pilot.

The USP of the car is the ample amount of cargo space and the comfortable cabin it offers to the passengers. It is a good family car and a well-rounded SUV but the major drawback being the price tag of the car. The car also has a good amount of space in the cabin. In fact, Honda Pilot can seat 8 people comfortably. The new Honda Pilot has an improved transmission along with the other few minor drawbacks. There are a few advantages to buying the car. The major advantage is the cargo space that it has to offer. There is a ton of room in the trunk to carry around 6-7 bags of average size. The third row of the car is also adult friendly.

Another important advantage of the car is that it is loaded with the interior features that offer a luxurious ride along with the comfort and the ease of drive to the driver. However, when the car is compared to the rivals, the competitors are more stylish and have an upscale inside. The new additions included in the car are the several driver assistance features. The car now offers a nine-speed transmission which was seven-speed in the previous versions. The infotainment system has also got a volume knob.

Nissan Pathfinder

Similar to Honda, Nissan India hasn’t had much success in the cheap passenger car side of the market. Instead their premium products have held the fancy of the Auto enthusiasts in India, while also maintaining marginally decent sales figures. Nissan Pathfinder SUV could be the car that bridges the Japanese company’s passenger and sports offerings. The car has gained quite a lot of attention internationally, and should be introduced to India as well. The car is rated well in terms of safety and comfort while driving. Moreover, the car is new in the market so it is taking time to find the right customer base.

One of the major advantages of the car is the brawny V6 engine. Despite having a powerful V6 engine and the other features, Nissan Pathfinder is not a particularly sporty SUV. However, it has good quality interiors, a user-friendly infotainment system, and the comfort that it offers during the ride. The major advantages to buying the all-new Nissan Pathfinder is the strong and athletic engine.

The easy-to-use infotainment system has also got the eyes of the customers. There are a few drawbacks to buying the car. The driver does not really enjoy the ride since the driver seat is stiff. The interiors are made of dull materials even though they are simple and easy. The rear passengers will not really enjoy the ride either. The rear seats are not comfortable and adjustable. The trunk of the car cannot hold much luggage as the capacity of the trunk is low.
