Thousands Turn Up In Funeral Of 3 Militants In Tral 

SRINAGAR — Despite bone-chilling cold, thousands of people on Friday participated in the funeral prayers of three militants killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

 Witnesses said that multiple funerals were held for the slain militants at their native areas of Chursoo and Laribal where complete shutdown was observed for the second day in running.

Reports said multiple rounds of funeral prayers each were held for Touseef Ahmad Thoker and Zubair Ahmed Bhat at Chursoo, Awantipora.

At Laribal in Tral, multiple rounds of funeral prayers were held for Shakoor Ahmad Parray. Reports said that his associates offered him a gun salute twice.

The three militants were killed in a gunfight in Gulshanpora area of Tral yesterday. Three soldiers were also wounded, one of them critically, in the gunfight.

At least six civilians were injured in clashes with the forces soon after the gunfight broke out.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was observed in the area with all shops and other commercial establishments shut. Meanwhile internet remained suspended for the second straight day in district.
