PDP Worker Shot Dead In Srinagar

SRINAGAR —  A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) worker was shot dead  by unknown gunmen at Gangbugh area of Tengpora in outskirts of Srinagar on Sunday evening. 

Official sources said that the gunmen fired upon the PDP worker Identified as Mohammad Amin Dar at Gangbugh.

Dar received serious bullet wounds and was taken to JVC hospital where he succumbed.

Sources said that Dar was close aide of former minister and Senior PDP leader Altaf Bukhari.

SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray also confirmed the incident.

A case has been registered and investigations into the matter has been initiated he said.

Soon after the attack state forces have launched hunt to nab the attackers. 

Meanwhile,PDP senior leader and former finance minister Altaf Bukhari has condemned killing of Mohammad Amin Dar.

Bukhari who is outside the country has termed the deceased as a “thorough gentleman who worked tirelessly for the welfare of common people of his area through-out his entire life.”

“The news of death of Dar has come as a shock to me. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family,” he remarked.
