Soldier Killed, Another Injured As Militants Attack Army Camp In Tral

SRINAGAR — An army soldier was killed and another received critical injuries in a militant attack at Panzoo area of Nader, Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday night.

Reports said that militants at around 8:35 pm opened fire upon army’s 42 RR camp at Panzoo area of Nader.

In the incident, two soldiers suffered injuries and were evacuated to army’s 92 base hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar. However, one among the injured soldiers Sepoy NG Leena declared brought dead on arrival.

The injured has been identified as Sepoy Tika Dhoni.

A police official also confirmed the death of the soldier and injuries to another in the militant attack.

The officer said that the army men returned the fire, however, there was no immediate report of any causality on the militant side.

He said that following the attack, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the assailants. (GNS)
