CRPF Man Injured In Grenade Attack In Tral

PULWAMA — A CRPF personnel was injured when suspected militants lobbed a grenade at a camp of the paramilitary forces in Tral area of this South Kashmir district on Friday evening.

Official sources said that grenade was hurled on CRPF’s 180BN camp in uptown area of Tral, opposite SDH, leaving a CRPF personnel injured.

They said that injured personnel, Shivpaul Kumar, was shifted to hospital for treatment. “Search operation was instantly started to nab the attackers,” they said.

 Bomb hurled at candidate’s house

 Unidentified persons on Friday hurled a petrol bomb at the residence of a Congress candidate, contesting upcoming Urban Local Body polls, in Hajin town this north Kashmir District.

The candidate whose residence was attacked has been identified as Irshad Ahmed Wani affiliated with Congress.

When contacted, SSP Bandipora confirmed the incident and said that candidate who is contesting ULB Election affiliated with Congress party was attacked with petrol bomb. However he escaped unhurt and no loss of life was reported in the incident. “We have already sent our team to the spot and further details are awaited,” he added.
