SRINAGAR A militant and an army soldier were killed in a gunfight at Dooru area of Anantnag in south Kashmir on Thursday.
Sources said that a militant was killed in gunfight with joint team of forces at Gakisgund, Dooru.
SSP Anantnag, Altaf Khan also confirmed the incident and said that one militant has been killed in the operation and the body of the slain has been recovered.
He said that the searches are under way.
Official sources said that three army men also suffered injuries during the gunfight and were evacuated to nearby military hospital immediately,where one critically injured soldier succumbed to injuries .
The deceased soldier has been identified as Happy Singh of 19 RR.
The injured soldiers have been idntified as Bopinder Singh and Kulwant Singh of 19 RR. (With GNS Inputs)
