KU Students Protest Killing Of Civilian In Srinagar

SRINAGAR —Students of Kashmir University staged a protest against the killing of a civilian at Baghwanpora area of Noorbagh, Srinagar allegedly in forces action on Thursday.

Reports said that the students started the protest demonstration from department of law and were shouting pro-freedom slogans.

The students marched within the premises of the varsity and students kept on joining the protesters as they marched ahead.

Later, the protesters dispersed off peacefully.

Earlier, a civilian Saleem Malik (26) son of Mohd Yaqoob killed at Baghwanpora Noorbagh.Police claim that the youth died in ‘cross firing’ following an encounter between government forces and the militants , while locals blame forces for the killing.  (With GNS Inputs)
