JAMMU An Station House Officer (SHO) was removed and four constables were suspended after two drug peddlers escaped from custody in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, police said Wednesday.
Iftikhar Ali and Parvinder Singh escaped from the Udhampur police station on Monday night, they said.
Taking cognizance of the incident, Head Constable Qasim, Head Constable Parshotam, Special Grade Constable (SGCT) Des Raj and SGCT Daleep Singh were suspended and SHO V S Choudhary was removed from his post on Tuesday, officials said.
A case was registered in this connection, and SGCT Daleep Kumar, who was on sentry duty, was detained for questioning, they said. (PTI)
