SRINAGAR From past one and a half year, a family from Srinagar has been wandering from pillar to post to get the killers of their son arrested. Police have already registered a murder case against Border Security Forces personnel belonging to 38 Battalion for killing a 15 year old youth Sajad Hasan Sheikh in cold blood.
According to family Sajad Hassan, a Class 9 student, was shot dead by troops of the BSF on April 15, after they were pelted with stones in Batamaloo.
It has been one and a half year. Police though registered a murder case against BSF personnel vide FIR number 53/18 under section 302 RPC has not made a single arrest yet. What is the fun of the FIR when you cant initiate any action against the guilty, Ghulam Hasan Sheikh, the father of the slain youth told news agency CNS.
Sheikh, belonging to a poor family that lives in Chandoosa village in north Kashmirs Baramulla district, used to earn a few thousand bucks every month by selling barbeques and Kashmiri wazwan items to sustain his family of six at Sheikh Dawood Colony Batamaloo.
We live in a rented accommodation in Batamaloo. Little did we know that the boy who was feeding us will leave us in a go. He was not a stone-pelter or militant but a bread earner, said Ghulam Hasan.
He said the death of his son has eaten him up and he is unable to concentrate on his work. It is painful to imagine killers of my son are roaming free. I wish police complete their investigation and bring killers to justice, he said.
