SRINAGAR Writers and intellectuals Saturday paid rich tributes to noted urdu poet and writer Syed Mohammad Akbar Jaipuri
A function organised at the seminar hall of Cultural Academy at Lal Mandi Srinagar saw speakers paying rich tributes to late poet. Akbar Jaipuri was remembered for his outstanding contribution to Urdu language and literature.
The function started with presentation of kalam-e-Akbar Jaipuri by singer Ali Saiffudin.
In his welcome address Secretary JKAACL, Dr.Aziz Hajni said that Akbar Jaipuri is remembered for his contribution across Urdu world. “He was a multidimensional personality, a teacher, a poet, a writer and a translator”, Hajni said.
Noted writer and broadcaster Rukhsana Jabeen presented a paper covering life and contribution of Akbar Jaipuri. Some contemporaries of late Akbar Jaipuri also presented their views on the occasion.
Syed Shabir Hussain shared his experiences and memories of his late father while Syed Zahoor Jaipuri on the occasion said he is going to publish the unpublished works of Akbar Jaipuri soon.
Proceedings of the function were conducted by Iqbal Lone and Chief Editor JKAACL presented vote of thanks.
