SSA Teachers Deprived Of Salary On Aadhar Excuse

SRINAGAR — Director School Education has taken a strong note of withholding salary of SSA teachers by the Zonal Education Office, Wagoora, in Baramulla, for failing to provide the Aadhar number.

According to some SSA teachers, their salary was not released by ZEO on the eve of Eid despite availability of funds as they had not submitted the Aadhar number.

They said a formal order had been issued by the government that linking of Aadhar was not mandatory but claimed that ZEO office officials didn’t listen to their pleas and left them high and dry on the auspicious occasion of Eid.

The teachers claimed that even to this day the ZEO officials refuse to release salary without linking Aadhar to the biometrics.

Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo , while taking a strong note of the matter said his  directorate had issued an order asking CEOs to ensure that no salary should be withheld on Aadhar linkage as it was not mandatory in the light of the recent court order.

He said he is holding a meeting of CEOs this afternoon and will seek an explanation from CEO Baramulla regarding the same. (KNS)
