Syed Javed of Rawalpindi No More

Srinagar: Senior pro-Azadi leader and prominent face of Pakistan’s Kashmiri community Syed Javed Ali Shah Hamdani is no more. He was 82.

Syed Javed passed away after prolonged illness at the Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi late on Monday, family sources said. 

Syed Javed will be laid to rest at Shah Qaf cemetery, New Katarian Rawalpindi and the funeral prayers will be held there at 2 PM on Tuesday, they said.

A noted philanthropist, Syed Javed worked tirelessly for the Kashmir cause and his house was an abode for Kashmiri refugees and activists for years.

According to family Fateha for the departed shall be held at the residence of his elder brother, Haji Syed Hussain Shah, House No 55,  Nabdipora-Hawal Srinagar, Kashmir on Friday.
