5 Bakery Shops Fined In City

SRINAGAR — A team of Food Safety Wing officers of the Drugs & Food Safety Organization, led by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Srinagar, Thursday inspected various bakery manufacturing units in Downtown Srinagar as part of the food inspection drive launched by the department in the district ahead of the Eid festival.

During the inspection, several bakery units were found unhygienic and their manufactured products were found containing preservatives. One of the units at Noor Bagh was also found operating without licence and was sealed on the spot.

Five bakers were fined during the inspection for non-adherence to hygiene stipulations as laid down under the FSS Act.
