SRINAGAR Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have cracked an ATM theft by arresting an accused.
A police spokesperson said police station Maisuma solved an ATM theft case by arresting the accused namely Tufail Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Gadapora, Shopian.
Sheikh, he said, had on July 20 deceitfully misused an ATM card of a woman from Lalbazar, Srinagar and thereafter fraudulently made multiple cash transactions of Rs 4000 and Rs 10000.
Upon receipt of a compliant, Maisuma Police Station registered a case FIR No: 26 /2018 under relevant sections of law and investigation in the instant matter was initiated, the spokesperson said.
He said after obtaining the CCTV footage from the authorities, the accused was identified with the cooperation of general public.
