SRINAGAR Unknown gunmen abducted and killed a man in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said on Monday.
Police sources said that around 9:30 pm on Sunday evening unknown gunmen abducted Gulzar Ahmad Bhat S/O Abdul Ghani Bhat from his native villge of Muuran and shot him dead.
His bullet riddle body was found by residents in the fields just a few meters away from his home on Monday morning” they said.
“Initial investigation suggest that the Zahoor Thokar and Showkat Dar-led group of Hizbul Mujahideen are involved in the killing,” the police said.
The deceased was running a chemist shop in Anantnag district.
This is the second such incident in the district in last three weeks. On July 29, gunmen abducted a CRPF man Naseer Ahmad Rather and shot him dead outside his residence at the Naira village.
