Youth Escapes From SOG Custody In Shopian

SRINAGAR — Brother of a slain militant, who was detained during an overnight raid ten days ago from south Kashmir district of Shopian, has managed to escape from a police camp.

“Suhail Ahmad Wani, a resident of Heff, was arrested along with two other men on July 15 during an overnight crackdown by the Special Operations Group,” a police official said

They said Wani on Tuesday late evening managed to escape from the SOG camp situated at Imam Sahab. “Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstance in which the youth managed to escape from the camp.

We are also looking if the youth received any help from any police personnel to escape,” they said.
