APDP Protests To Seek Whereabouts Of Dear Ones

SRINAGAR — Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) held a sit-in on Tuesday at Pratap Park in Srinagar to demand the whereabouts of their relatives who have allegedly disappeared in the custody of government forces.
Scores of relatives of disappeared persons holding banners and photos of their disappeared loved ones assembled at Partap Park here demanding whereabouts of their missing relatives.
APDP holds token protest sit-ins on 10th of every month to commemorate the struggle of the families of disappeared persons.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson APDP, Parveena Ahangar while welcoming the recent report of United Nations on Kashmir said the international community has also acknowledged the stand of Kashmiris that “Indian forces commit grave human rights violations in the Valley.”
The protesters also raised the disappearance case of Manzoor Ahmad, a resident Devar Kupwara, who was allegedly picked up by army on August 31 last year and is still missing.
They demanded the whereabouts of Manzoor and all other disappeared persons.
