Tral Student Announces Joining Militant Ranks Online

SRINAGAR — An undergraduate science student who had gone missing from his home before Eid had joined militancy. 

A picture of Muhammad Shariq Wani (22) of Hariparigam village of Tral in which he could be seen holding two assault rifles has surfaced on social media.

Wani, who was pursuing bachelors in Laboratory Technology, had left home before Eid-ul-Fitr didn’t return home. A source said that Wani has joined Jaish-e-Muhammad militant outfit.

“We are ascertaining the facts,” said a police official.
