Clashes Erupt After Friday Prayers In Nowhatta

SRINAGAR — Clashes erupted  between forces and civilian protesters erupted in Nowhatta area of Srinagar city after Friday prayers.

Reports reaching here said that soon after the Friday prayers were over, people, particularly youths, started marching to protest against the mowing down of the youth by CRPF vehicle.

However, they were intercepted by a posse of police. The youth pelted stones on the forces which retaliated using pellets and teargas shelling.

The youths according to reports were raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
