Weapon Snatching Bid Foiled At AG’s Home

SRINAGAR — Police on Thursday said that its men guarding the residence of advocate general Jahangir Iqbal Ganie at Mattan area of Anantnag foiled a bid by militants to snatch their weapons.   
A police officer said that a group of three to four militants attacked a police post guarding the house of Advocate General at around 10:05 pm.

The militants opened fire while the alert sentries fired back as a result of which the militants fled, thus repulsed the attempt of weapon snatching. “The area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers,” the officer added.
