SRINAGAR Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan is being observed today. Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti have felicitated people of the State on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida.
Vohra has conveyed his warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida and expressed hope that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of communal harmony, peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of greetings, the Governor has prayed for the well-being and happiness of the people of the State.
In her message on the occasion, the Chief Minister said as the Holy month of Ramazan is drawing to close, people need to do as much charity as possible in these days and join the happy moments of the destitute, orphans, widows and other victims of fate. We owe to them as we have been commanded by Allah (SWT) and Zakat and Sadqat are the best way to bring these segments of society back into the mainstream of happiness and prosperity, she said in her message.
The Chief Minister also appealed people to pray for seeking His blessings on the eve of Jumat ul Vida.
Joint resistance leadership, spearheading the movement for self determination, is observing the last Friday of Ramazan as solidarity day for Kashmiris and Palestinians.
