Hey kiddos, drop that Mobile Phone

My caption sounds like a warning and a threat. Of course it is!  I will not talk of adults, they have got remote control in their hand and it is their choice if they want to get glued or they want to segregate from their all-time favorite companion called Mobile Phone. Well I am more concerned about those who have just set their foot on this planet. For time being, I will call them Mod-Con kids, as they are surrounded by numerous webs of technological fantasies. They don’t know that before even passing 10 orbits under the sun, they have passed countless orbits under the shade of Smart phone. Their skills surpass those of adults and I am sure they give you a tough competition now. Many of the parents feel on sky high that their kids are proactive and skillful in this technologically driven world but hey it is rather otherwise! ICT no doubt is presenting numerous fruits but it is dreadful for growing brains.

When a child is growing physically, his/her brain is in development stage also, therefore very prone to the happenings whether good or bad around him/her.  A research by International Agency for Research on Cancer at World Health Organization, 2011, concluded “Brain is the direct target of radio frequency emissions emitted by mobile phones.” These rays are potential carcinogens (cancer causing).

The temporal and frontal regions of the brain are developing during teen years and are main protagonists in cognitive functioning. All this exposure hurts the ultimate productivity as a result mod-con kids earn sorry grades in school. Their reading habit hazes and imagination power decreases. Their attention is all the time fragmented therefore less focused in class. They become zombies as if they suffer from some response disorders. They become insomniac and their eyes too suffer very badly which is then realized after some years. Usage of slangs can hamper their proper linguistic usage in future. Because of less human to human exposure due to social media use, they actually are unsocial in reality and pick up fights with anybody without any reason. Dear parents, this is exactly the stage when you say “Our children have become unruly hounds and we no longer can control them.” Remember you used to bribe them a phone every time they tried to irritate you. Playing games no doubt increases neural area but if too much can again hurt. Online games are made as addictive as marijuana. They prompt a person to know what pleasures lie ahead. Since kids have a low level of self-control, they are ready to take these risks. All this ultimately gives rise to a mal formed personality.

Dear parents and particularly, my favorite little creatures, Mobile Phone is not your bestie or big brother. Don’t worry about likes and comments. I feel life is happier, successful, and sustainable at least at this athletic stage without this equipment. This is the stage to explore and question everything, to doodle whatever, to enjoy hide and seek in nature, comics and story books. Without phone, you still will have friends and still will have a lot of game to play. If you don’t possess a phone, don’t be afraid of phone shame. Actually, you are the real heroes of the day.
