Srinagar—Eithad Football Club, Pampore-one of the premier football clubs in South Kashmir’s Pampore area associated with Jammu and Kashmir Football Association- have done the state proud winning a football tourney in Mumbai.

According to the statement issued by the team management, the club won the second division of 4-a-side tournament in Mumbai which was organised by Mumbai Football Association.

Etihad won four games out of seven in the league phase, recording victories against Manipur, Orrisa, Maharashtra and Goa before piping Uttar Pradesh to win the finals.

Club coach Zahid Sofi was all praise and proud of his team.

“It isn’t easy to win against big teams. My boys showed character and skill level to beat the best. We played as a team which helped us to win big moments,” he said.

He said that the tour to Mumbai wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Falahi Behbood Committee Pampore and Rehmat Spices who sponsored the team to participate in the tournament.

“I and my team are highly thankful to Falahi Behbood Committee Pampore and Rehmat Spices for their help and encouragement. They have always helped the sport in our area,” he said.
