SrinagarReal Kashmir Football Club and Lone Star Kashmir Football Club-Kashmir two leading clubs-have been slated in the same group of the second division I-League that is set to begin next month.
One of the premier tournaments in Indian domestic circuit, I-League will kick-start from March 18 with two teams from Jammu and Kashmir featuring in it.
Both the teams have been put in Group A which means fans will have an opportunity to see both the local teams in action in Srinagar.
In a meeting held by All India Football Federation (AIFF), it was decided that the league will be played in two phases including preliminary and final phase.
According to the statement, a total of 18 teams will be taking part in the league including reserve teams of seven Indian Super League clubs (except ATK, Northeast United FC, Mumbai City FC).
It was also decided that 18 teams will be divided into three groups where each team will play at home and away venues.
After a historic debut by Lone Star Kashmir Football Club a couple of seasons ago that made it the first club from the state to take part in the I-League, Real Kashmir managed to take part in the coveted league to give football fans something to cheer about.
Both the Srinagar based sides have given a good account of themselves in the brief stint and their fans would hope for a better show come the next month.
