Jammu and Kashmir government Friday said that 1,865 industrial units with an investment of Rs 896.22 crore have been set up in the state during the last three years.
In a written reply to a question of BJP MLA Gagan Bhagat in Lagislative Assembly, Minister for Industries, Chander Prakash Ganga said that 1,255 industrial units have been set up with an investment of Rs 409.70 crore in Kashmir valley during last three years.
Similarly, in Jammu region, 610 units with an investment of Rs 486.52 crore have been set up during the same period, he added.
These industrial units provided 20,719 jobs in the state during the same period, he said, adding that out of which 12,571 persons were given employment in these units in Kashmir valley, while 8,148 persons were given employment in Jammu region. (PTI)
