JRL Calls For Peaceful Protests Today

Unacceptable Decision: Dr Farooq

Srinagar—The Resistance Leadership (JRL) have called for peaceful protests after the Friday prayers today against the decision of US President Donald Trump, recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

"The US decision to declare this sacred land (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel points towards the political bankruptcy of the fascist Trump regime.

"Kashmiris across the valley will stage peaceful protests against the US decision after the Friday prayers tomorrow," the separatists, under the banner of the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), said in a statement.

The JRL, comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, said Jerusalem represented the religious emotions and aspirations of more than a billion Muslims across the globe.

"This is our Qibla-I-Awwal (the first direction of prayer) and no Muslim can ever accept it (Jerusalem) as the capital of the Zionist state of Israel.

"By taking this kind of irrational decisions, US President Donald Trump is actually showing his imprudent politics, fascist behaviour and enmity against Muslims," the statement said.

Terming the US decision "naive" and "dangerous" for international peace, the separatists said these unilateral and anti-Muslim decisions were bound to deteriorate and damage the already fragile peace and tranquillity of the world.

Unacceptable Decision: Dr Farooq

National Conference President and Member of Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday strongly condemned the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital by the United States President and said this move was unfair, unjust and oblivious to historical facts and also to the goal of reconciliation and peace in the Middle East.

Abdullah said the move has hurt the sentiments of Muslims all over the world and made the goals of cooperation and stability farther and harder to achieve.

“This announcement by the United States President is in contradiction to history and the sentiments of millions of Muslims across the world, including India. At a time when the world is grappling with instability and hostility, especially in the Middle East, an arbitrary announcement of this nature is fraught with the risk of alienating people and adding to the widespread sense of injustice”, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said.

The National Conference President, while strongly condemning the arbitrary announcement, said the global community is obligated to deliver justice to the people of Palestine and no responsible power should take any steps that would hurt sentiments centred around historical disputes and injustices.

“The Government of India is also obligated to strongly and unambiguously oppose this move in line with the country’s historical foreign policy stand that is committed to the people of Palestine in their quest for justice and peaceful existence and is also pivoted on the policy of non-alignment and objectivity. The condemnation from the Central Government should be unequivocal and we should take a stand in consonance with our values and our place in the comity of nations”, Dr. Farooq Abdullah added in the statement.

“India has traditionally and consistently supported the cause of the Palestinian people, and our Foreign Policy has always noted East Jerusalem as the capital of an Independent Palestinian State. A failure of the Modi Government to strongly reiterate this commitment and stand would be a great disservice to our country’s independent foreign policy goals and our commitments at the global stage”, the National Conference President said.

India’s 'wishy-washy': Omar Abdullah

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday termed the Centre's stand on US recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital a "wishy-washy drivel".

He said that such a move in the past would have drawn strong condemnation from India.

"There was a time when the Trump Administration move to over turn decades of US policy WRT #Jersualem would have provoked a strong condemnation from India," he said.

"Now all you get is some wishy washy drivel about India's position determined by our self interest & not what other countries do. There was a time India stood for something," he wrote on Twitter.

President Donald Trump had yesterday recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital, reversing decades of US and international policy on the holy city.

Anti-Muslim, Anti-Palestine Decision: MMU

The Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) on Thursday condemned the US president Donald Trump’s announcement of declaring Al Quds Al Sharief (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel.

Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Jammat-e-Islami spokesman Advocate Zahid Ali, Dr Abdul Lateef Alqandi of Jamiat-e-Ahlihadith, Karwan-e-Islami patron Moulana Ghulam Rasoo Hami, Patron of Darul-Uloom Rahemiya Moulana Rehmatullah Qasmi, Anujuman-e-Share-Shian president Aga Syed Al-Moosvi-Alsafavi, Anjuman-e-Itehadul Muslimeen Moulana Abbaas Ansari, Kashmir’s grand Mufti, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din, President Anjuman-e-Tableegul Islam Moulana Fareedur Rehman Bukhari, Patron of Anjuman-e-Himayatul Islam Moulana Khursheed Ahmed Qanoongo, Patron of Islamic Study Circle Dr Yousuful Umar, Moulana Lateef Ahmed Bukhari of Anjuman-e-Mazharul Haq, Head of Darul Uloom Bilalia Moulana Abdur Rashid Muftahi, Head of Darul Uloom Qasmiya Mufti Nisar Ahmed Qasmi,President of Anjuman-e- Ulema-e-Ahnaf Moulana Akhzar Hussain, and other members of the Anjuman that include Dr Sameer Sidiqi, Professor Tayab Kamili, Mufti Nazimudin Nadvi, Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, Moulana M S Rehman Shams strongly condemned the US president Donald Trump’s announcement.

In the joint statement, the MMU termed Trump’s decision as purely anti-Muslim and anti-Palestine stating that the move amounts to stabbing the heart of every Muslims across the world.

The MMU called for protests on Friday against Trump’s unilateral decision and stated that mass protest rallies will be organised in every masjid, shrine and imam bara of Kashmir against the decision which amounts to trampling of rights of innocent people of Palestine on one hand and hurting the sentiments of Muslims across the globe.

The MMU said that a joint resolution condemning the Trump’s decision will be passed in all masjids, shrines and Imam Baras across Kashmir at the Friday congregational prayers.

They said that after Trump’s dictatorial decision of declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has created deep anger and resentment against the United States

The MMU said that Muslims across the globe hold Baitul Muqadas in high esteem due to its affiliation with the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) journey to the skies and also of the fact that all Muslims used to bow their heads before the Masjid-e-Aqsa also known as (Qibla-e-Awal).

The MMU said that Trump’s decision of declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel will further trigger and deepen the rift between Israel and Palestine and lead to serious crisis.

They said that it believes that one-sided decision of Trump is the direct violation of UN charter which have been totally ignored by the US president. The MMU said the Trump’s decision seems to be a direct outcome of the bonhomie between US and Israel and the move will be resisted by all the Muslims including those living in Jammu and Kashmir.

Step Violates UN, Int’l stand: CPI(M)

The Polit Bureau of the CPI (M) strongly condemned the decision of US President Donald Trump, to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to shift the US Embassy there from Tel Aviv.

This action goes against the United Nations’ and the international community’s stand that East Jerusalem is an occupied territory by Israel since 1967, a press release issues by the party said here Thursday.

An independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital is the internationally accepted position. The United States has taken the formal step of legalizing the illegal occupation of Palestine territories by Israel. No other country in the world has given recognition to Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The United States is also responsible for scuttling any possible peace negotiations between the Israel and Palestine. This decision by Donald Trump will trigger further tensions and conflicts in the region with global ramifications.

Unlike the worldwide opposition to this move, official spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs has scrupulously refused to criticize the US decision. This shows the extent of servility of the Modi regime to the United States.

The Polit Bureau demands that the Modi government come out strongly disapproving of the US action, as it goes against India’s longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause.

Get United Against US Decision: Anjuamn Shari Shian

Senior separatist leader and president Anjuamn Shari Shian Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi said that it is high time for 56 Islamic countries to take on anti-Muslim US president Donald Trump and show them the power of unity.

Jerusalem represents the religious emotions and aspirations of Muslims and it is also the Qabl-e-Awal of whole Muslim Ummah, Agha Syed said in a press statement.

“The decision of Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel reveals his anti-Muslim stand and policies. Islamic countries should raise voice against this irrational decision,” he said.

Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi said that no Muslim can ever accept Jerusalem as the capital of Zionist state and so this decision is bound to fail. He said that Trumps decision will have serious ramifications.

Some Muslim Rulers Considering ‘Fascist’ America As Their Saviour: JeI

Jamaat-e-Islami J&K strongly denounced the ‘unjust, biased, anti-Islamic and unrealistic’ decision of US administration to declare and accept Jerusalem, one of the three holiest places of the entire Muslim Ummah, as the capital of Israel.

“The Zionist Jews have illegally and immorally occupied the land of Palestine in 1948 with the connivance of the so called world powers under a sinister design mainly formulated in 1917 resulting in the Balfour Agreement,” JeI said in a press statement.

The spokesman said that all the anti-Islamic forces played an open role in the creation of this illegal state of Israel by forcibly evicting the native people of Palestine mostly Muslims and on resistance thousands of innocent Muslims were massacred in the broad day light and none of the so called champions raised any sincere voice against that genocide at that time depicting clearly that all the imperialistic powers were at the back of inhuman Zionists.

“American government played the main role in all that devastation but still then Muslim rulers are considering this fascist government as their saviour. Now President Trump has once again cut the throat of Muslims proving thereby to be the dreaded enemy of Islam and Muslims but the Organisation of Islamic countries and most of the Muslim rulers are still hesitating to strongly condemn the American policies. The Trump administration has thereby declared an open war against Islam and as such all those Muslim rulers who support these crusaders are the worst hypocrites,” he said.

Jamaat Islami vehemently condemned the American decision and appeals Organisation of Islamic countries and other peace and justice living nations to come forward and strongly condemn this fascist decision of the Trump administration and severe all economic relations with it.
