SrinagarMinister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga Saturday laid the foundation stone of playfield at Kotli Matlakian in Ramgarh sector to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 9 lakh, an official statement said.
According to the statement, the minister asserted that the government is committed to provide better sports facilities and infrastructure to the youth to help them perform better in national and international tournaments and bring laurels to the state.
He appealed the youth to work hard and keep themselves away from social evils like drug addiction to achieve their desired goals. A proactive approach and public participation is vital for a prosperous society and nation, he added.
He urged them to participate in the nation building and work together against corruption and other social evils.
Later, the Minister convened a public grievances redress camp to listen the problems and demands of the villagers. The locals apprised them about the problems being faced by them related to power and water supply, road connectivity, sanitation and education.
Responding to their demands, the Minister assured that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a time bound manner. He exhorted upon the officers to closely monitor the work and put sincere efforts in creating quality assets.
