Srinagar: An Auto driver was allegedly mercilessly beaten by the soldiers of Indian Army in Ajas area of Bandipora district in North Kashmir.
Eyewitnesses account says the Auto driver identified as Aijaz Ahmad Ganie of Gundpora Bandipora was beaten to the pulp by Army men of 13RR when he tried to overtake their vehicle.
The injured driver was shifted to NTPHC Ajas for immediate treatment where from he was referred to JVC Srinagar hospital for further treatment.
Sources said one person was also thrashed by Army when he tried to video-shoot the incident.
Soon after the incident, people staged protests that led to a slight traffic jam.
Army PRO Col Rajesh Kalia wasnt available for his comments. (KNS)
