SrinagarHailing Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) for its action against violators of law in Nursinggarh and Balgarden, the residents of the twin areas today appealed SMC authorities for initiating similar action against left out business outlet set up in the localities.
Since the action of SMC, fresh business establishments including godowns have come up in the twin colonies in violation of rules and in certain cases even Court orders were not honoured, a delegation of the residents under the banner of welfare committee told Kashmir Wire.
They said setting up of these outlets have caused mental worries to the residents due to frequent loading and unloading of goods by the businessmen during night and morning hours.
The delegation said setting up of business outlets in residential areas goes against the established law. These outlets besides giving rise to the nuisance has viciated the calm atmosphere of the residential areas.
The welfare committee on behalf of the people of the areas placed on record their sincere gratitude and thanks to the commissioner SMC and the district development commissioner for sealing off the business establishments in the residential colony earlier.
They said they fervently hope that this is the beginning and not an end in itself. Fresh business outlets have come up in this residential colony, much against the rules of residential colony which has caused great inconvenience to the residents.
They said the delegation had met the district development commissioner Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah and apprised him of the genuine problem. The DC gave a patient hearing and assured of mitigating the genuine problem very soon.
They also appealed to Police department to ensure that car parking in the residential colony is avoided.
Meanwhile, another delegation from Karan Nagar area demanded immediate action against the shopkeepers who have made it a habit to bring their merchandise goods on footpaths to block the road for pedestrains which causes accidents.
