Srinagar: Two policemen sustained injuries when the service rifle of a constable went off accidently inside Police Station Kulgam in South Kashmir on Monday morning.
Reports said that the service rifle of a Sentry went off accidently in a Guard Post resulting in the injuries of two cops.
A police official while confirming the incident identified the injured cops as Fayaz Ahmed and Zahoor Abas.
Reports said that both the injured cops were taken to Sub District Hospital Kulgam where Doctors referred them to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.
A police official said that they are investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, top police officials including DIG South Kashmir SP Pani visited the police station to take stock of the situation. (CNS)
