JammuFour army men were killed and one seriously injured in a road accident on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Banihal area of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
An official said that four army men were killed when a car (bearing registration number JK 02 N 6332) they were travelling in met with an accident near Shatani nallah.
The fifth soldier travelling in the car, headed to Jammu from Kashmir, was seriously injured in the accident, he said. He was shifted to Banihal hospital for treatment.
The deceased were identified as Pawan Kumar of village Bachyaal, Vijay Kumar, son of Rattan Lal of Gau Manasa, Omparkash of Sunetar Ramnagar Udhampur and Pawan Kumar of Akhnoor.
The injured soldier was identified as Joginder Pal of Kathua.
All the soldiers, according to the official, were posted in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
2 Cops Among 3 Killed In Road Mishaps
Three people, including two police personnel, were killed and seven others injured today in road accidents in Jammu and Kashmirs Kupwara and Pulwama districts.
In Kupwara, two persons were killed and four others injured after their car skidded and fell into a stream in the Kralpora area, a police spokesman said.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Habibullah Lone and Ruqaiya Begum, he said.
In the other accident, two cars collided at the Barsoo area in Pulwama, killing a police constable and injuring three others, the spokesman said.
Constable Farooq was declared brought dead by doctors at a hospital in the district, he said.
